I don’t know if its kosher to link to outside sites, but I had to share this car. Its a Singer Porsche "Indiana". 390hp 4.0L race engine, 3.3 0-60, and will do 175mph. Not to mention its drop dead gorgeous. I don't know if its worth half a million dollars, but if I had that much disposable income, I would love to have one.

Singers are gorgeous, definitely my favorite resto-mod.

They are expensive, but if I had the funds I would do so. They really do nice work.

Yes, the Singer Designs 911s are a favorite around these parts.
And, they are definitely worth all of their asking price. Everything is hand-made. Every single detail is perfected to the buyer’s specification. You don’t get that level of craftsmanship for pennies.

Same here. I love Icon’s work, but look at that interior and engine bay and try to tell me that Singer isn’t the best.

The Road & Track cover and article a few month back made me weak at the knees. By far my favorite type of 911, ever.

I would love to see more coachbuilders like this
Side note, I think they transcend “resto-modder” and harken back to the coachbuilders of the 20s.

Agree completely. Sadly, there are very few cars that have the prestige to warrant such attention. I can’t even think of another example at the moment.

I was just thinking about that. I think Neu Classe BMWs would be a good candidate. Like converting a e46 into a 3.0 CSL or something. Or taking a 325is and putting it into a 2002.

Maybe, but I suspect there aren’t enough people who would want something like that over an actual M3.

The article says they've only sold 28 Singer Porsches. I have to imagine there is at least 28 people who would prefer a modern 3.0CSL over an M3. I would.

Sure. Willing to spend several hundred thousand dollars to get it?
I’m not trying to disagree. I think it’s a great idea. It just falls down on pricing, and you cannot do that kind of quality without huge price-tags.
The Eagle speedster is a perfect example. It’s just an old Jaaaaaaaaaaggggggggg, but it so isn’t. And it’s $600,000+.

The Singer in question cost about $500k. If I was in the income bracket where that was realistic, sure.
